Objective: Rezoning & Design
Margaret Chisholm Resettlement Centre
23 Mcdougall Court NE, Calgary
The Calgary Catholic Immigration Society (CCIS) is looking to expand their facilities in order to provide more for the Alberta community by bringing their administrative services on site as well as potential expansion of occupancy capacity for incoming families and single people to Calgary.
MT Arch is working with the CCIS to propose an incorporation of the above services in an additional 2.5 story building with a half story parking included on the NW corner of the CCIS site. In addition to this, we would like to inspire the idea of reinforcing the unofficial pedestrian pathway that moves from the Bridgeland LRT station toward the 4st bridge in order to support broader community circulation.
Please let us know what you think of our approach!
The CCIS is a non-profit organization that provides settlement and integration services to all immigrants and refugees in Southern Alberta. The initiative currently houses up to 80 immigrant families for up to 19 days, providing them assistance in their initial adjustment to a new city and context with activities such as finding work and setting up bank accounts.
